Mission Statement
To improve and enhance the South county's and
border region's economy, image and quality of life; and to heighten
public awareness of Southern California's most desirable location to
live, work and dream.
Goals
- SCEDC's objectives/goals within the South San Diego County region include:
- Promote the region's economic prosperity
- Serve the region's voice/advocate in shaping economic policy, and the region's public and private interests.
- Provide resources and support to members, businesses and stakeholders to advance the region's economic prosperity.
- Facilitate investment and capital growth.
- Encourage private investment.
- Promote diversified residential and business development.
- Publicize the cultural, educational, social, and geographical opportunities of the area.
Objectives
- Pro-actively participate in planning that will ensure a continued high quality of life for its businesses and residents.
- Serve
as the primary regional advocate for funding, infrastructure
improvements, legislative and regulatory action and business issues.
- Provide financial opportunities for business development through grants and loan programs.
- Educate the region's business and governmental leaders regarding economic issues that relate to the South County.
- Market the South County as a premiere location for a new and expanded business opportunities, international trade and housing.
- Facilitate and assist in interaction among SCEDC members, businesses, government entities and other organizations.
- Develop a significant membership base that will actively support the SCEDC's goals and objectives.
- Support educational activities that ensure a highly qualified skilled workforce to meet the needs of business.
